Manage members

The Members tab of a project lists everyone on it with their role. The owner can change roles, remove people and hand the project over. Any other member can leave.

  1. Open the project and go to the Members tab.
  2. In the member’s row, open the role menu and choose Editor or Viewer.

The change applies at once, including in an open editor: someone moved to Viewer sees “Your role changed to Viewer. The editor is now read-only.” The member gets a notification, for example “Your role in {project} changed to Viewer”.

Only the owner can change roles, and the owner’s own role cannot be changed here. To make someone else the owner, transfer ownership.

  1. On the Members tab, open the … menu in the member’s row.
  2. Choose Remove from project.
  3. Confirm with Remove.

The person loses access straight away and their collaborator seat is freed. They get a notification (“You were removed from {project}”). You can invite them again later.

Hand the whole project to another member, for example when a student finishes a thesis and a supervisor takes over the project.

  1. Make sure the new owner is already a member. If not, invite them first and wait until they accept.
  2. Open the project’s Settings and choose Archive & delete.
  3. Under Danger zone, next to Transfer ownership, click Transfer.
  4. Under New owner, pick the member.
  5. Type the project name to confirm, then click Transfer ownership.

Luzbase shows “{name} now owns “{project}”.” You become an Editor on the project.

You cannot transfer an archived project. Unarchive it first.

If you are an Editor or a Viewer, you can remove yourself from a project.

  1. Open the project’s Settings and choose Leave project.
  2. Click Leave, then confirm with Leave in the “Leave this project?” dialog.

Luzbase shows ‘You have left “{project}”.’ The project disappears from your list, and only the owner can invite you back. The owner gets a notification that you left and your seat is free again.

You can leave an archived project too. The owner cannot leave; transfer ownership first.
