Change or reset your password

Change your password when you know the current one, or reset it by email when you’ve forgotten it. Both sign out your other devices.

A Luzbase password needs all of these:

  • At least 8 characters
  • An uppercase letter
  • A lowercase letter
  • A number
  • A special character, such as !, # or %

The form shows a checklist that ticks off each rule as you type.

  1. Open your avatar menu and click Security.
  2. Under Change password, enter your Current password.
  3. Enter a New password and type it again in Confirm new password. It must differ from your current one.
  4. Click Change password.

You see “Password changed. Your other devices have been signed out.” The device you’re using stays signed in. Luzbase also emails you about the change.

If your account signs in only with Google or GitHub, this section is called Set a password instead. See Sign-in methods.

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?
  2. Enter your Email and click Send reset link.
  3. Open the email and click the link. It works for 1 hour.
  4. On New password, enter a New password and Confirm password.
  5. Click Set new password. You see Password updated, and you can sign in with the new password.

What a reset does:

  • It signs you out on every device, including the one you’re using.
  • It cancels any email address change you had started.
  • It sends you a “Your password was reset” email. If you didn’t reset it, reset it again right away.

If the link has expired or was already used, you see “This reset link has expired.” or “This reset link is invalid or has already been used.” Click Request a new link to start again.

Changing or resetting your password doesn’t turn off two-factor authentication. You still need your authenticator app or a recovery code the next time you sign in. See Two-factor authentication.
