Sign-in methods

You can sign in to Luzbase with your email and password, with Google, or with GitHub. One account can use several of these. This page shows how to link a provider, unlink it, and add a password.

On the sign-in page, click Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub.

Luzbase never attaches a provider to an existing account just because the email addresses match. If you already have an account with a password and try a provider for the first time, you see:

“An account with this email already exists. Sign in with your password, then link this provider from Account settings → Connections.”

Sign in with your password, then link the provider as shown below. After that, either way works.

  1. Open your avatar menu, click Profile, then click Connections.
  2. Under Linked accounts, click Link next to Google or GitHub.
  3. Sign in at the provider and approve the request.
  4. Back in Luzbase, you see “Google is now linked to your account.” (or GitHub). The row shows a Linked badge, the provider’s email and the date you linked it.

Each provider can be linked once. Luzbase uses the link only to sign you in. It never posts anything to your Google or GitHub account. Linking or unlinking a provider sends you a security email.

  1. On Connections, click Unlink next to the provider.
  2. Confirm in Unlink Google? (or GitHub) with Unlink.

You can no longer sign in with that provider, and you can link it again at any time.

You can’t unlink your only way to sign in. If your account has no password and one provider, Luzbase shows “This provider is your only way to sign in. Set a password before unlinking it.”

If you created your account with Google or GitHub, it has no password yet. Add one to also sign in with your email address, or to change your email.

  1. Open Account settings → Security.
  2. Under Set a password, enter a New password and Confirm password.
  3. Click Set password.

The password must meet every rule in the checklist: at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character.

To change or reset a password you already have, see Change or reset your password.
